Yes! Once the trip meets its minimum number of travelers, I’ll reach out to confirm your spot in the order registrations were received. Deposits won’t be due until July 1, 2026, but once you’re confirmed, you're welcome to go ahead and submit your deposit early and set up a flexible payment plan with me. (You’ll see a question about payment plans right in the registration form.)

The $350 per person deposit is non-refundable, which is why I won’t collect it until the trip is officially a go and I’ve personally confirmed your spot. After that, you can either pay it right away or wait until the July 1 deadline. The great news? If your plans change, G Adventures allows you to apply that deposit toward any of their other trips—so it never goes to waste.

You’ll receive a detailed packing list from me well before departure. In general, think layers, swimsuits, comfy shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and pack light—space is limited and you’ll want to keep things easy on the go.

As of July 2025, U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays under 180 days in Costa Rica, but you do need a return ticket. Your passport must be valid for your entire stay and have at least one blank page.
If anything changes before we travel, I’ll keep you updated. You’re responsible for meeting entry requirements, so I recommend checking the U.S. Department of State’s website for the most current info. -
Staying up to date on routine vaccinations like MMR, Tdap, and Hepatitis A/B is strongly encouraged. Some travelers also consult a travel clinic about typhoid, malaria, or rabies. It’s always a good idea to talk with your doctor about what’s right for you and your family.

Airfare isn’t included in the package. Flights to San José typically become available about 11 months out. You’re welcome to book on your own, or I can help you find, book, and ticket your flights for a $50 per person fee.

Yes! Pre-night stays at our San José hotel are available for $90 per room. Just let me know in your registration form if you’d like to add one.
As of July 2025, post-night stays are not yet confirmed, but if that changes, I’ll keep the group posted. -
Gratuities for local guides and activities are included.
Tips for your Chief Experience Officers (our main guides) are not included, and a good guideline is $10–$20 per CEO, per day. There will be two of them with us throughout the trip. -
Yes! As soon as the group is finalized, I’ll invite everyone to a private Facebook group where we can connect, share excitement, and get to know one another. We’ll also hold a virtual meet-up about two weeks before departure to walk through key travel info and say hello face to face.
