International Travel with Children

Showing our children the world and providing them with authentic experiences is the best gift we can give them. Giving our young ones the space to explore, interact, and learn about people and places different from their own – situations that make them slightly uncomfortable – but expand their tolerance, increase their compassion, and expose them to the real-world is more important than any textbook or honors class. The earlier you can travel with your children, the better, but it can be very intimidating. Do not fear though. With the help of a trusted travel advisor, you can offload the stress of planning and managing a family vacation to us. We have the knowledge, connections, and experience to guide you down a path to joyful travel moments.

Traveling with children is no easy feat. It requires careful planning, flexibility, and tolerance. It can be done; and it can be done well. Family trips that are carefully executed result in transformative experiences, meaningful relationships, and unforgettable moments. Our tried-and-true rule when designing itineraries for families with younger children is to plan for no less than 3 nights in any given place. We collaborate with our clients to design a trip that includes the sights they must see, with the pace and flavor they prefer, tempered with the comfort of staying in their accommodation for at least 3 nights before moving on to the next location. This hub-and-spoke design allows families to settle in, decreases time spent unpacking and repacking, and provides comfort to little ones.

We stress the importance of not overplanning your itinerary, but selecting accommodations that are conveniently located to the sights on your wish list. If everyone is in the mood to pack more activities in than were previously planned, it is easy to do so because we’ve thoughtfully planned for the unplanned and situated you in an advantageous location.

You may not be able to cross everything off your list when you travel with your children, but if you can prioritize and expose them to the most important experiences on your list, they will remember it forever. Family travel will not be fun if your focus is on “getting it all done” rather than “let’s enjoy what we can together”. With this approach, your children are guaranteed to ask you when they can take another trip or return to the place that opened their eyes to the world – and see what you missed the first time! We’ll be here right beside you ready to help you give your children those memories that will shape them into compassionate adults with a deeper appreciation and understanding of the world in which they live. We are all a part of something bigger. Let’s not wait to start sharing it together.
